9.2.        PLANT INSTALLATION

Plant Installation: 100L – On Grade

 Planting hole - Excavate a hole no deeper than the rootball. The hole is to be 4 times the diameter of the
 rootball. Rip the sides of the hole prior to planting without disturbing the interfacing road sub-base.
 Watering dish - Form a 100mm high, 1000 mm diameter mounded soil watering dish around the tree. Infill the
 water dish with mulch.
 Staking - Drive stakes into the ground, to approximately one third of their length, avoiding damage to roots.
 Install 3 times 50mm x 50mm x 2400mm stakes. Provide ties fixed securely to the stakes, one tie at half the
 height of the main stem. Others as necessary to stabilise the plant.
 Installation – Install as per manufacturers details. Re-tension after planting to provide a slightly loose fit,
 allowing for main trunk and canopy movement, which will provide wind support and promote root and stem
 growth.
