Subject: SK BCS 1192 MCU13/0087 Notice of Submission Allan McKenzie From: [email protected] Date: 2013-10-14T00:01:35+00:00 To: Internet Mailbox Sunshine Coast Regional Council Notice of Submission under the Sustainable Planning Act 2009 Submission 14-Oct-13 10:01 AM Application Details 1. Application no: MCU13/0087 2. Postal address of Land (as advertised): 99 Noosa Drive, 3 & 29 Lanyana Way, Noosa Heads 3. Nature of proposed development: Multipurpose commercial development Principal Submitter Details 4. Full name of submitter: Allan McKenzie 5. Postal address: 27 Banksia Ave 6. Suburb: Noosa Heads 7. State: Qld 8. Postcode: 4567 Additional submitters 9. Full name of submitter: Details of Submission 10. I (We) make the following submission: I object to the proposed development for the following reasons: 1. We do not need more empty shops in Noosa. There are already too many of these. More empty shops will put additional tressure on the current ones to also close down, creating a central commercial ghetto as is the case in Marrochydore, which has taken a long time to repair. 2. We do not need more empty units in Noosa. There are already too many of these. More empty units will further damage the depressed real estate market. 3. We do not need another hotel in this precinct. There is already one at Noosa Junction, and another close by up the hill. These businesses are just getting by. The risk of another business is that they will not make a profit, and the council will be left with empty derelict buildings 4. It is totally unacceptable to claim any parkland for commercial development. We need more parkland, not less. This is meant to be a bioshere, after all! 11.
