Hi Nadine

Thank you for your immediate action to help resolve the noise issue.

The enclosure of the generator with the timber panelling and insulation was one of many options discussed ( e.g. relocation of generators;  turning off generators; concrete enclosure of generators; mains supply power etc) with Mr Ben Smider as a temporary noise reduction measure.  This measure is only until such time as advice can be sought from a qualified acoustic consultant, regarding eliminating the intrusive noise permanently.

The feedback Council has received from requestors is that there has been a reduction in noise levels over the weekend, however the noise emission are still causing sleep disturbance and noticeable intrusion during the day.

A preliminary noise measurement  undertaken on Friday afternoon, indicated an approximate reduction of around 6dB(A) at the property boundary.  More work is urgently needed to eliminate the noise so that it is not detectable at residential areas.

Please update Council on actions taken to permanently eliminate the noise emissions from the site including key timeframes.
