To Whom it May Concern Concerns re the Application below - SEWAGE, PARKING, PEDESTRIAN ACCESS Application 132008.176.05 We are delighted that the Calile is hoping to be built in Serenity. However, I feel that there are a few issues that I would like to reiterate on. I am an owner in L2 and my concerns are more around sewage and traffic chaos. I have been a 'concerned citizen' walking down the path behind Grant Street and finding the manhole literally bubbling with sewage and deciding to do the right thing by phoning council, only to be told it has nothing to do with them, rather Unitywater needing to be contacted and giving me the number for Unity water for residents to phone needing their bill details etc. I was told this twice and am still incredulous since sewage has a whole lot to do with our wellbeing and council doesn't even seem to have hotline to Unity water?! It turned out that the bubbling manhole that was eventually dealt with, was a huge issue and took months to fix. Further down the walking track, past the big tank (I assume) we are often left gagging due to the odours pouring forth and it is a terrifying thought that already, in 2023, in a first world country, Unity water has been unable to address the situation and yet we are planning on adding another several hundred toilets to the mix. An assurance that Council is aware and also on the same page as Unity water would appreciated. Add to this, an assurance that the relationship between Council and Unity water involved an ability for council to be able to contact Unity water efficiently. (rather than having the 'Joe Blogs' taking the time, effort and annoyance of having to hold on for ages and sorting out a many people problem for council). Another concern is how Council is going to deal with the added traffic woes ?- what will become of a chaotic roundabout at the bottom of Grant Street, what will become of pedestrians in Grant Street considering council has street lights smack in middle of the intermittent pedestrian paths - no prams, or, walkers in the dark are safe from those strangely placed lights. Has parking been fully addressed? Where will all the units in Serenity Close have their huge bins on rubbish day if the street is full of cars on each side? Thank you for reading.
