Subject: MCU22/0201 34 Elm St Cooroy - Proposed new car wash in Cooroy From: Averil Wilcox Date: 2023-10-16T07:32:55+00:00 To: Mailbox Council Mail You don't often get email from [email protected]. Attn: Assessment Manager We wish to fully support the proposed new car wash in Cooroy for the following reasons: Cooroy stalled during covid and still has many vacant buildings. This development does not conflict with any other business that has made it through the tough times. It provides a service to the surrounding towns, not just Cooroy. Many people in Cooroy and the surrounding towns are on tank water and with the continued dry cannot wash their cars at home. This then effects the life of the paintwork on their car. The water saving by people using this facility rather than town water, will be significant. The positioning of the development is sensible and not in the middle of the CBD. It will be able to be accessed just as the two adjacent Service Stations are. It is in a business precinct with no direct residential area abutting the development. The increase in daily noise and traffic would be minimal as it is a busy thoroughfare anyway and the railway line is across the road. Noise there is normal. Many people travel through the area with caravans. This development will encourage more of these people to stop, wash their vans, stay at the Council RV grounds and support other businesses in the town.
