PLANNING & ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 6 JULY 2021
Matters Raised Comments
I have just been made aware of this development The application is for fill for the purposes of
application and wish to strongly oppose it on establishing a building pad to construct a dwelling
environmental grounds, and because I remain house only.
strongly opposed to medium density housing
occurring in Pomona. I believe Pomona and the
Hinterland will lose its identity as a beautiful
tourist area if it becomes over populated.
I do not like the idea of a block of units put on this The application is for fill for the purposes of
historic site. Once this is approved it sets a establishing a building pad to construct a dwelling
precedent for future applications. That means house only.
more vehicles and people in a space that is
getting overcrowded now. There is a lovely family
of kangaroos that frequent this area and the local
residents love them being there. It would certainly
impact their visits. To add fill to the Creek is not
ok either. Why can't Council realise they are
taking away the true amenity of this unique and
beautiful area. Don't ruin this beautiful part of the
Noosa Hinterland by allowing a block of units to
be built. I am totally against this application.
12. CONCLUSION & REASONS FOR DECISION
The application seeks a Referral Agency Response for a Dwelling house (filling beyond 3m of the
footprint of building), for the purposes of establishing a house pad and flat outdoor recreation area.
The application is considered to comply with the relevant outcomes of Noosa Plan 2020 and will
not cause ponding of water on the site or nearby land, land, will not increase flooding or affect the
flow of water in any overland flow path. In addition, the proposal will not result in any adverse
impacts on neighbouring properties in terms of privacy or amenity, due to the location of the fill.
