Figure 13: Aerial view of existing vegetation
When viewing Figures 12-13 above in the context of the existing detail survey and the proposed landscape concept plan
in Appendix A and B (extract below in Figure 14 and Figure 15), the following is observed:
- the majority of the existing mature vegetation is located inside of the site boundary
it is proposed that these established trees will be maintained where possible.
a condition of approval can be applied to ensure that where possible, this vegetation is maintained and
not damaged when constructing the proposed development.
- additional landscaping comprising a variety of plant types such as shade and feature trees and mulched garden
beds with mass plantings of low level ground covers will be provided along the site’s northern boundary
this includes a setback between 3m and 7m along this frontage as well as a generous 10m
setback between the line of existing mature vegetation and the proposed store building
The above assessment is considered to appropriately demonstrate that the proposed development will not adversely
impact on the existing view/vista of Walter Hay Drive when approaching the Eumundi- Noosa Road roundabout from the
south east.
