     • Development in a character area is sympathetic to the streetscape character and heritage
values of the area by retaining buildings, structures and other elements that contribute to the
preferred character of the area and by complementing the predominant building styles in the
          street.
It is considered that the revised scheme for the site complies with and achieves the purpose of the
Heritage Overlay Code and complies with the above Overall Outcomes that are relevant to this site
and the proposal.

6 summary
As noted above the extent of retention and conservation of existing building fabric external and
internal, is much greater in the revised scheme than the lodged scheme.

It is considered that this revised scheme presents a good heritage outcome for the retention,
reconstruction and conservation of the building fabric of the Royal Mail Hotel Local Heritage Place and
its cultural heritage significance.

Yours sincerely,
