result of the Service review. Cherie O’Sullivan has commenced (on 0.4 FTE) as Environmental
Officer, Emma Menzies has commenced (on 0.5 FTE) as Waste Education Officer and Janette
Palmer has commenced as Administration Officer. The three additions will be invaluable in
ensuring that Waste Management can continue to deliver a quality service to Noosa residents
and businesses.
Other staff numbers and positions remain constant.
4. SYSTEMS & PROCESSES
Environmental
Waste Management have recently drafted a Receiving Environment Monitoring Program (REMP)
for the Eumundi Road landfill and resource recovery site. The REMP conforms to the amended
environmental authority for the site issued by the Department of Environment and Heritage
Protection (EHP) last year. It is an outcome based system that allows for more relevant,
responsive and timely monitoring at the site and ensures that controls and responses are
effective in protecting the surrounding environmental values. It was submitted to EHP on 29 July
for their review and feedback. EHP has referred the REMP to the Department of Science,
Information Technology and Innovation for technical review by the State’s experts.
