or alternatively contracted work dedicated to this role will need to be reviewed should this

The Waste Education Officer is also currently working towards preparing an education
package for schools and encouraging and facilitating more effective recycling at local
events.
Waste Management will over the next two months conduct a waste audit on bins collected
across the Noosa Council. The aim of the audit is to measure if Noosa Council’s waste
communication strategy will improve recycling rates over a 12 month period. It will also
seek to measure average amounts and quality of organic waste currently produced by
Noosa residents in preparation for a potential organic waste service. In particular the audit
will measure:
a. The current level and efficiency of domestic kerbside recycling in the Noosa area.
b. The average amount of recyclables incorrectly going to landfill.
c. The average amount of organic waste currently collected in residual bins and going to
landfill.
d. The level of contamination of green waste bins.
