Dry Sclerophyll Forest consisted predominately of regrowth with a few scattered mature habitat
trees.
Habitat features within the proposed disturbance area included branch and crown hollows, large
hollow stags, fissured bark, arboreal and terrestrial termite mounds, patches of thick leaf
litter/bark shedding’s and woody debris. Fauna signs included small feeding nosing’s (bandicoot),
burrows, possum scratch marks, small and large macropod scat, brush turkey diggings and
mounds and black cockatoo feeding signs.
The significant species most likely to be encountered on site is the Vulnerable Koala
(Phascolarctos cinereus) and Vulnerable Wallum Froglet (Crinia tinnula) (See Table 1). A few
scattered old koala scratch marks were found within the site during the pre-clearance survey.
See Table 2 for all the opportunistic fauna sightings recorded during the Fauna Pre-Clearance
Survey.
