Subject: vac BCS 1192 MCU13/0087 Notice of submission From: Karl Wieczorek Date: 2013-10-17T00:06:16+00:00 To: Internet Mailbox Sunshine Coast Regional Council Dear Sir/Madam I wish to raise concerns regarding the rezoning in Noosa Junction for the Coles development of the bowls club. While I agree the Junction is in need of some development, the rezoning and development application should rightfully be put to the new Noosa Council in a few weeks. I live a few streets away from the proposed development and do not object to it, I do however hold the view public land and zoned recreational land in a precinct should be protected, Coles already hold a very strong position within the Junction and outside resizing the current facility more development by Coles needs to be studied and planned carefully, keeping in mind current uses of the area. Coles might be better off creating a market town square type of development, where people can develop businesses and the area serves as a community hub with markets, shops, pub, restaurants, residence (Flats) and perhaps a kids play area as Bunnings have done within their stores. Markets could operate, street vendors, buskers etc etc. But to create yet another mediocre bland run of the mill shopping centre when one exists right next door is a poor effort. Coles does very very well at the Junction and should be looking to put something back into it rather than detract from it. Noosa is a very spread out little town, a central location to facilitate some of the ideas above could possibly bring life back into the Junction instead of turning the locals against it. Thanks for your time Cheers Kind Regards, Newlyn Surveys Karl Wieczorek Director 9 Safari Street | NOOSA HEADS QLD 4567 Mobile: 0417 096 609 This message may contain private and confidential information and is intended for the named persons only.
