Attached to the e-mail PM Submission - Lady Marilynne Cahn - MCU22/0118.
Planning Assessment Manager Noosa Council Pelican Street, Tewantin Application Number: MCU22/0118 Application Type: Material Change of Use Description: Short-term accommodation Postal address of land: 94 and 142 Noosa Drive, Noosa Heads, 4567 I object to this development strongly for the following reasons:- Primarily this is koala and other wildlife habitat - koalas in Noosa Shire are listed as threatened. When this site was rst developed by Mirvac, people remember seeing koalas fleeing across the road and over the bridge - never to return. The same will happen again, as soon as building and stripping of vegetation starts, despite the views and advice of all the experts in environmental and wildlife sustainability. Do they live here? Local people know what happens - we’ve seen it all too often. When will we learn? Noosa is a biosphere - this is a very important pocket of pristine land and shore by Weyba Creek, which must be treated with utmost care and consideration. Residents are fed up with the steady chipping away of our environment for tourism. Given the repercussions of this development the use of the term ‘eco cabins’ is a true misrepresentation. Surely Noosa Heads cannot need more short term accommodation. It really is a slap in the face for those who cannot afford to work and live here due to the crippling price of accommodation. Sadly this is greed - the worst of all human addictions… let’s not let Noosa become so at the mercy of development and tourism. We have other qualities. Yours sincerely Lady Marilynne Cahn 13 The Quarterdeck Noosa Heads 4567 [email protected] fi
