Dear Sir/Madam
Re: MCU21/0104.01 ~ Lot 13 RP 150347, 16 Rene St Noosaville
We have reviewed Noosa Council’s request for information dated 5 March 2024 and provide our response to the
Engineering related items.
Issue - Stormwater
While it is acknowledged that more detailed design will be provided at the subsequent operational works stage
Council requires additional comment from the engineer. The existing development (roof and hardstands)
discharges at the eastern (Rene Street) frontage of the site and Council has concerns with the capacity of the
existing stormwater drainage line through the site to cater for the additional runoff from the proposed
carparking area.
Information Required
6. Provide additional comment from the design engineer that addresses the existing drainage line and
states that the line has the capacity to cater for the additional runoff from the carparking area.
7. Provide comment on the expected overland flowpaths from the carparking area in significant rain
events. The flowpaths must be contained within the subject site.
Response:
The site is situated in an area already zoned for industrial with positive drainage infrastructure directly located to
the south of the site. The developed area of the site to the front of the lot is currently impervious, and the proposed
changes will not alter the quantity of stormwater run-off. To the rear, the current unsurfaced hard stand area will
be replaced with a sealed surface with a negligible increase in run off rates.
The rear portion of the site currently drains to the south into the 375mm diameter stormwater drain via existing
field pits and then into a 600mm diameter at the eastern lot boundary. The proposed stormwater layout is
documented on SCG drawing 0085-C1.2 and with a pavement laid to falls and a positive drainage system, should
be regarded as an improvement on the current situation with regards to the overland flow.
