I would like to make a submission opposing the proposed NBN tower at the above address.

The proposed location of the structure is in very close proximity to 4 homes.   Residents should not be subjected to a 35 metre telecommunication tower, especially when they have chosen to live in this area, where some of the houses are off-grid, or at least partially so. Instead of open forest and native bushland, they are faced with a visual monstrosity extending above the treeline. This would be distressing in an urban environment, but more so here because plans such as the Mary River Catchment Plan are in place and quite specific about protecting the amenity of residents.

The structure could be sited in many other locations, but to position it so close to a few homes is very puzzling and flies in the face of the principles of the Mary River Locality Catchment Plan. Have they been disregarded, overlooked or accidentally forgotten?

The position amongst houses, along a ridge and in view of the Cooran, Cooroora & Pinbarren mountains needs to be seriously reconsidered.
