PLANNING & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 25 MARCH 2014
3. Rate Concessions
Details of the concessions granted on the January Levy are set out below. With respect to
pensioner concessions, Council was required to seek consent from each pensioner to access
information to allow the concessions to be processed. As at rating issue date 2,771 pensioner
concession forms had been received and processed. A further 1,120 application forms were
processed after the issue date following a further request via Council’s website and local media
for pensioners to ensure they provided their forms back.
There are still approximately 295 properties that received a pensioner concession in the July
2013 rate run but did not return the required forms in time to obtain a concession in the January
rate run. Revenue Services staff have begun phoning these pensioners requesting them to
submit a pensioner application if they are still eligible.
