REPORT
This report provides the Council with the necessary recommendations to enable it to adopt its
Corporate Plan, Operational Plan, 2014/15 Budget and Organisational Structure.
These resolutions have been prepared in conjunction with King and Co. to ensure compliance
with the relevant provisions of the Local Government Act and Local Government Regulation.
King and Co. have also specifically reviewed the Revenue Policy and Revenue Statement to
ensure compliance with relevant legislative requirements.
The adoption of the Council’s Corporate Plan and 2014/15 Budget package is a significant
milestone in the establishment of our new Council and is the culmination of six months of hard
work by Councillors and management to set the groundwork for future years.
Although already addressed at the Special Council Meeting on 18 June 2014, I would also like to
highlight the incredible amount of work to prepare this budget by the Mayor, Councillors and staff.
Particular recognition should be provided to the Director Corporate Services and his finance team
for delivering a balanced budget in such a short time timeframe.
