EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Noosa Shire Council’s Mayor – Cr Stewart, Deputy Mayor – Cr Wilkie, Cr Finzel, Cr Lorentson and
the Acting CEO of Noosa Council, Larry Sengstock will be attending the LGAQ Conference from 16-
19 October 2023. As a result, Council will not meet the required attendance of Councillors for quorum
as per Standing orders. Therefore the below recommendation to the Council defers both the General
and Ordinary Meeting dates for October 2023 to one week later than originally advertised.
RECOMMENDATION
That Council note the report by the Chief Executive Officer (Acting) to the Services & Organisation
Committee Meeting dated 8 August 2023 and request the Chief Executive Officer:
A. Defer the date of the General Committee from 16 October 2023 to 23 October 2023
B. Defer the date of the Ordinary Meeting from 19 October 2023 to 26 October 2023
REPORT
Attendance at the LGAQ Conference by Councillors is supported by the CEO as an important
professional development opportunity for the Councillors. Unfortunately, the advised meeting
schedule clashes with this year’s conference dates.
The recommendation to defer the General Committee and Ordinary Meeting will ensure the delivery
of Council business as per the requirements of the Local Government Regulation and Noosa Shire
Council Standing Orders in meeting the required quorum.

Once the this report has been considered and a Council resolution is made, Council Officers will
publish the revised dates on the Noosa Council website www.noosa.qld.gov.au and the next
available Noosa Today (print advertisement) after 17 August 2023 to comply with 245B of the Local
Government Regulation 2022.
