Details of Submission I, make the following submission: I do not agree with the abovementioned proposed development at 115 Eumundi Road, Noosaville (Lot 30 on SP 170751). I have grave concerns for the health and safety of my three children who attend the adjacent school Good Shepherd Lutheran College. I believe there are significant health risks posed by having a fuel station so close to a school as well as the safety risks of having such a large amount of flammable and hazardous gases and liquids right beside a place where children are being educated 5 days a week. Let us not forget that Benzene is but one of the carcinogenic BTEX contaminants of concern at service station sites, and is known to cause blood cancers, specifically leukemia. I do not believe it is necessary to put our children at risk of these toxic vapours for the sake of yet another service station in our “green” town. I strongly oppose this development and ask that Council make a sensible choice for the safer and healthier future of the children of this town.
