Please note that it is not mandatory that the catching is carried out at night. When night time operations are undertaken it is generally carried out in low light so as not to distress or alarm the birds. When the birds are being caught and transported they are placed in cages while in the sheds and the cages delivered to the truck parked at the door of the shed. A single down-facing light is positioned at the door of the shed when the birds are being loaded into trucks. A photo of the lighting of an existing shed in operation at a Redlands Bay poultry farm is shown below. PRINCIPAL 12 Maple Street (PO Box 639) Cooroy Q 4563 ABN 59 847 644 252 Max L. This lighting is only used when operations are underway and they are well within the parameters of the normal lighting of any rural operation. Haul Route Please find attached a report prepared by Hayes Traffic Engineering regarding the haul route of trucks within Cooroy. The peak time for the use of the haul route will be during the bird collection period: generally the number of trucks utilizing the haul route during this period will be approximately 4 trucks per day; however it may be up to 6 trucks per day. Please note that this only within the bird collection period of the growing cycle of the birds. Composted Material It is intended that all of the composted material be utilized on the site within the avocado orchard. The report prepared by Myriad International (Agronomists) states that the amount of compost produced will not be sufficient to supply the current orchard of its fertiliser needs. However in the extreme case where the compost cannot be used within the site it is envisaged that the compost will be taken off site by truck. The applicant has been approached by a horticulturalist located within 1km of the site, a farm producing a nursery product located within 5kms of the site and a turf farm located at Cooroy for any excess composted product. Also an olive orchard at Murgon has contacted the applicant with respect to product. It is envisaged that there are many sites in the local area that the product can be utilized if it cannot be used on-site. | thank you for your consideration in this matter. Yours faithfully Max Watterson

Dear Sir,
RE: Information regarding the Haul Route
MCU12/0184 – Animal Husbandry Type 2
Lot 21 SP226606
136 Top Forestry Road, Ridgewood Qld
I refer to Council’s request regarding further information in relation to the Haul Route
through Cooroy for traffic movements associated with the proposed development at Top
Forestry Road, Ridgewood.
An assessment of the external road network was undertaken as part of the initial traffic
engineering review and the most preferred route for traffic travelling to/from the Bruce
Highway is via Myall Street, along Crystal Street, south on Maple Street and onto
Cooroy-Belli Creek Road to the site via Old Ceylon Road and onto Top Forestry Road.

Crystal Street is the most preferred route and offers the following characteristics;
the most direct and convenient route to the site;
good sight visibility at the intersection with Myall Street and a wide throat;
a 4.5m sealed shoulder between the edgeline and kerb on Myall Street to provide
deceleration and turning maneuvers for left turns in to Crystal Street.
provides a better angle for turning paths at the roundabout with Maple Street;
provides the least impact to residents and businesses in Cooroy.
It was recommended that Tulip Street was unsuitable due to the activities associates with
the school, including regular on-street parking, pedestrian and cycle movements as well
as the maneuvering angle at the intersection with Maple Street roundabout.
Overlander Avenue has a 90 degree alignment with Ferrells Road and also has a greater
density of residential access, and therefore is not a preferred route.

I trust that the above information satisfies the Council’s concerns however; should further
information be required, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Yours faithfully
