3. APPLICATION FEES
In accordance with Noosa Shire Council’s Fees and Charges Register 2021-2022 and as
confirmed by Council on 10th March 2022, a breakdown of the Development Application
lodgement fee is provided below.
Noosa Shire Council’s Fees and Charges Register 2021-2022 relevantly provides:
Material Change of Use – Code Assessable
Use Fee
Health Care Services Up to 100m² GFA: $6,062.00
m² thereafter: $6.00
Office Up to 100m² GFA: $6,062.00
m² thereafter: $6.00
Council advised in its email of 10 March 2022 that as the development application seeks approval
to establish either Commercial Business Type 1: Office & Commercial Business or Type 2:
Medical in each tenancy within the proposed development), that an application fee for each use
applied across the entire GFA for the proposal will be required. Although we do not necessarily
agree that the proposal for these interchangeable uses warrants a double application fee in the
circumstances, in the interests of completing lodgement within our statutory timeframe we
have calculated and provided the Application Fee in accordance with the directions given by
Council in its 10 March email, as follows:
Page 3
Proposed Development:
Total GFA: 2,170m²
Use Fee
Up to 100m² GFA: $6,062.00

2,170m²

PLUS
Up to 100m² GFA: $6,062.00
Office
m² thereafter (2,070m²): $6.00
2,170m²
= $6,062 + ($6x2070) = $18,488
TOTAL FEE: $36,976.00
We note Council’s email confirmation dated 15 March 2022 of its receipt of the Application Fee,
and now request that Council issue a formal receipt in respect of the Application Fee given the
formal lodgement of the development application undercover of this letter.
