Covering an area of 871 km2, Noosa Shire is situated at the northern end of the
Sunshine Coast in Queensland. Our population is 52,049 based on the 2011
census. We have an aging community with almost 27% of our population over
the age of 60 (compared to the Queensland State average of 16%).

Noosa has:
    a proud history of preserving its natural environment
    a community that has an incredible passion for this region
    recognition by UNESCO as a Biosphere Reserve
    a unique mix of country and coastal living characterised by inter-
     connected villages
    an economy that is diversifying beyond tourism.
