SROI attribution
There is evidently an array of outcomes and potential SROI benefits from the programs and clubs hosted by
the Digital Hub. To convert benefits into values, financial proxies were determined.
For the SROI the following are reasonably assumed:
• Equivalent benefit of private tutoring $30/ hour – cadets/ after-school
• Equivalent benefit of private tutoring $30/ hour – attendees of school programs
• Transition of students into members of the Digital Hub and/ or active members of the digital network/
entry into work within the digital industry (notional value of product development and commercial
activity)
This approach is based on high probability, while considered a conservative position. There are likely to be
significant social benefits from higher engagement with schooling, and stronger social bonds by living closer to
friends and family, while accessing the digital community which is already happening for many driven and
talented students. The full range of potential benefits can only be known in the future, when realised.
Therefore, these attributes are noted but only a little allocation is included in the 2020/21 SROI.
