Southern Beer Garden
The proposed expansion of the southern outdoor beer garden is based on the applicant’s
interpretation that the upper-level hallways constitute a ‘common foyer’ and are therefore excluded
from the defined term ‘Use Area, which details car parking requirements for hotels.
While the applicant contends that these upper-level hallways meet the definition of a common
foyer, this interpretation is not supported. However, given that car parking for the accommodation
units has been assessed at a rate of one space per unit, it is considered reasonable to exclude the
upper-level hallway area from the Use Area calculation for the purpose of car parking.
The applicant’s request is supported.
