4.0 METHODOLOGY
Our investigation and assessment included the following:
A review of geological and landslide hazard overlay plans.
Subsurface investigation at two borehole locations.
A slope stability risk assessment in accordance with the Australian Geomechanics Society (AGS)
Guidelines for Landslide Risk Management (March 2007).
4.1 Fieldwork
Fieldwork was carried out on 9 February 2023. The subsurface investigation comprised two boreholes
(designated BH1 and BH2). Borehole BH1 was drilled with a 4WD-mounted auger rig to 6 m below ground
level (BGL), and borehole BH2 was hand-augered to 1.6 m BGL.
Dynamic cone penetrometer (DCP) testing was undertaken adjacent to/within the boreholes to assess soil
consistency/density.
The borehole locations are shown on Figure 1 in Appendix A, and Reports of Boreholes are presented in
Appendix B, together with explanatory notes. The ground conditions are discussed in Section 5.2.
The fieldwork was carried out by a geotechnical engineer from Core who logged subsurface conditions in
accordance with AS1726-2017 Geotechnical site investigations.
