This Revegetation Plan is provided in support of the Operational Works Application for Stage C of Doonella Noosa development at
Beckmans Road, Noosaville. The plan identifies and maps existing site vegetation conditions and proposes revegetation and weed
management works within the identified “Environmental Corridor” (proposed lots 901, 902 & 903). This plan is to be read in conjunction
with the relevant Engineering Drawings for the project produced by Brown Consulting (Qld) Pty Ltd, and the Landscape Drawings
produced by AECOM.
Stringybark Consulting undertook site investigations to map the Environmental Corridor vegetation and its values over two days
23/07/14 - 25/07/14. Historical information from envrionmental monitoring activities on the site conducted on 26 occasions since
October 2011 by Stringybark Consulting have also been relied upon in the compilation of this plan.
This revegetation plan will provide the following detail in the following sequence;
Ÿ Summary of vegetation within the Environmental Corridor
Ÿ Summary of hydrology of the drainage line and associated herpetological values 1 - Open Scribbly Gum forest (RE12.9-10.4)
adjacent Beckmans Rd
Ÿ Mapping of the Environmental Corridor and poposed revegetation and weed management works required
Ÿ Detail of weed management works
Ÿ Planting species arrangements, planting methodology and establishment
Ÿ Maintenance requirements
Site Vegetation and Hydrology Descriptions
Stage C of the Doonella Noosa development contains vegetation mapped as Regional Ecosystem 12.9-10.4 which is described as
“Eucalyptus racemosa subsp. racemosa woodland on sedimentary rocks”. The Regional Ecosystem (RE) has a broad species palette
and typically floristic changes are notable in reference to small topography and surface hydrology changes within this system. The
subject site provides an example of this, with dominant E. racemosa canopy and supporting species (Corymbia trachyphloia,
Lophostemon suaveolens, Allocasuarina littoralis) throughout the study area, but with notable understorey changes and shifts in
understorey dominance, particularly along the defined ephemeral drainage line which flows from Beckmans Road to the adjoining
subdivision to the East.
Areas adjacent to Beckmans Road which are above the gully line contain an understorey which has a higher diversity of wallum and 2 - Gully Line - Upstream from Dodonea Close

and Green-Thighed Frog- Litoria brevipalmata to potentially occur on the site. Historical survey records also identify the acid frogs,
Walum Froglet - Crinia tinnula, and Wallum Sedgefrog - Litoria olongburensis from adjacent areas. All three acid frogs prefer tannin
stained, high quality and low pH ephemeral water bodies (~5 pH). These conditions are not found within the subject drainage line. 3 - Gully Line - Bottom adjacent Lot 172
Walum Froglet - Crinia tinnula, Wallum Sedgefrog - Litoria olongburensis, and the Wallum Rocket Frog – Litoria freycineti are not
anticipated to occur within the Environmental Corridor as there is insufficient suitable habitat.
DRAWING INDEX
The Green-thighed Frog - Litoria brevipalmata habitat requirements are more consistent with the project site values, recorded from
Drawing Title Number Sheet wet sclerophyll to open forests and breeding in high quality freshwater ephemeral pools which provide sufficient time for the completion
Cover Sheet and CS-01 1 of 3 of larval development.
Methodology
The proposed development will result in an increased detention of stormwater through the drainage line with the anticipated detention
Detail Sheet DS-01 2 of 3 of water above the proposed Dodonea Close for a maximum of 2.5hrs (Q100 event). However this change is not anticipated to be
Treatments sufficient hydroperiod for breeding ponds as it is anticipated to provide insufficient time for the completion of larval development
(typically shown to be 30 – 50 days to metamorphose). Changes in hydrology such as the historical urban development and Beckmans
Detail Sheet DS-02 3 of 3 Road construction which discharge into this drainage line, is also anticipated to have impacted water quality values, making conditions
Planting Arrangements more favourable for ecologically-similar sibling species (congeneric species such as L. fallax and L. nasuta, Limnodynastes peronei),
which can displace specialist frog species in these environments.
Vegetation survey has also indicated that there are eight different sedge species within the drainage line above the proposed Dodonea 4 - Drainage area adjacent Beckmans Footpath
Close, ranging from short growing ephemeral Cyperus sp, through to deep water tollerant macrophytes such as Lepironia articulata.
On this basis, whilst macrophyte vegetation arrangements may change as a result of the new hydrological regime, no embellishment
plantings are anticipated to be required to ensure plant coverage to the drainage line.
Vegetation Mapping - Revegetation Plan Treatments
- Five treatment areas have been identified for the Environmental Corridor area. These treatment areas have been identified based
upon the existing vegetation present prior to construction, proposed weed management and rectification works required, and
NOOSA COUNCIL embellishment planting which may be required. Drawing DS-01 sets out the treatment areas and proposed revegetation and weed
management requirements for each area.
APPROVED PLANS
OPW14/0197 3 OCT 2014 Vegetation Management Works - Stage C
All vegetation clearing works are anticipated to occur in accordance with the Vegetation Clearing & Fauna Management Plan Issue
B, produced by Saunders Havill Group. This includes vegetation clearing protocols and sequence, Fauna Fencing requirements and
Fauna Spotter Catcher requirements.
