distributed throughout the outdoor area. The purpose of this is to provide a spread of speakers
to cater for patrons seated throughout the area, rather than a single loudspeaker location driven
at a higher level in order for patrons to adequately hear the signal across the area. To simulate a
distribution of speakers within the outdoor lawn area, Live It Acoustics’ personnel positioned
four (4) omnidirectional Bluetooth speakers as indicated in Figure 2. This is considered to be
representative of typical small-medium outdoor weatherproof speakers.
2.3 Surrounding topography, land uses and potentially affected
premises
The elevations surrounding the venue generally form a downwards G51 Check Item 17 ☐
sloping bowl from the directions of Bryan St (NW of the venue) and Webb
Rd (West of the venue), towards the beach access driveway South of the
venue. This is illustrated in Figure 5 below. As a result, the majority of
potentially affected premises (which consist of a combination of medium-
rise residential units and multi-storey residential houses) are situated at a
higher elevation than the venue, which may have an impact on noise
propagation.

Figure 5. Elevation contours
Onsite observations indicated that the orientation of the noise generating licensed areas and
operable doors/windows, are located on the Eastern and Northeast facing building envelope. As
a result, significant shielding of noise is provided to the Southwest, West, and Northwest
directions from the venue building. Building envelope construction on this side of the building
was observed to comprise of mostly heavy mass construction with no operable doors or
windows to internal licensed areas. Due to this orientation however, it is anticipated that
residential uses directly North and South of the venue would likely be most affected by noise
generated by the venue. Further discussion on identified affected premises is provided below.
