Entertainment Noise Assessment
4 Results and Discussion
4.1 Summary of findings
No major acoustical issues were identified during testing. G51 Check Item 47 ☐
Compliance should be monitored at the CEMLs where possible. The
purpose of this is to provide flexibility to the licensee with regard to the
specific configuration of the venue, provided that the limits at the CEMLs
are not exceeded. This approach also aims to minimise cumbersome
noise conditions, such as “XX dBA when X doors and X windows are
closed, etc.”.
4.2 Recommended close external noise limits
Presented below are the summarised noise limits at the CEMLs, based upon the calculations
provided in Appendix B – Calculation Summaries. The limits presented indicate the calculated
level limit for the venue operating configuration as described in Section 3.7. Measurements
should be made at the CEML in either dBA (before 10:00PM) or dBC (after 10:00PM) using
‘Fast’ time weighting.

[1]
Measured in dBA using a ‘Fast’ Time Weighting.
[2]
Measured in dBC or dBZ using a ‘Fast’ Time Weighting.
[3]
CEML locations are marked in Figure 8 and photos provided in Appendix D – Detailed Measurement Locations.
4.3 Recommended specific licensed premises area noise limits
Presented below are the summarised noise limits at the SLPAs, based upon the calculations
provided in Appendix B – Calculation Summaries. The limits presented indicate the calculated
level limit for the venue operating configuration as described in Section 3.7. Measurements
should be made at the SLPA in either dBA (before 10:00PM) or dBC (after 10:00PM) using
‘Fast’ time weighting.
