3.1.2 Noosa Shire Council Landslide Hazard Overlay Map
Noosa Shire Council (NSC) Landslide hazard risk overlay has been referred to for this
assessment. This overlay is generally referred to during new developments, where land is
located on the NSC overlays it is a requirement that a geotechnical assessment be undertaken to
demonstrate that the landslide risk is low to very low prior to development. The NSC Landslide
hazard risk overlay (see figure 5) identifies the majority of the property as being a moderate or
high risk of landslide hazard area. High Risk areas are nominated to occur on the south facing
slope to the north of the development site. In the localised area of the site where the
development is proposed the Hazard Overlay nominates Low to Moderate risk.
