Waterwatch
TNC is being supported by NICA, who is keeping records of water quality in association with the restoration sites as part of
NICA’s Waterwatch program. NICA volunteers, led by Bruce McConkey, have been busy collecting additional water quality
information to their standard Waterwatch sites for the Goat Island restoration site (Table 3). Their work already samples in
association with the Tewantin restoration site. Waterwatch may be extended to the Noosa Sound restoration sites in the near
future (subject to future discussions).

Volunteering
The project has enjoyed an extensive amount of volunteering, or in-kind support, from individuals, organisations and
businesses. The record of volunteer hours dedicated to community volunteering programs, such as: shell recycling, oyster
gardens, oyster watch, video monitoring is given in Table 4.

North Group, Ecological Service Professionals (ESP) and M&J Marine Services all delivered services to the project above and
beyond their contracted mandates. Their contributions ranged from extra times in meetings, supporting the project team
with technical investigations and analyses, participating in site visits, managing the oyster shell collection and providing
resources for use by the project, free of charge.

State agency staff from DAF, particularly those who sat on the Noosa TAG, contributed significantly.

Our community partners including Mooloolaba River Fisheries, Resource Recovery Australia, EEhub, NCBA and NICA also
contributed to the project above and beyond their contracted mandates. Collectively they provided more than 1,376 hours
