State Scientific Review of Protected Areas Gazetted or Proposed Since 2002

Recently the Queensland State Government undertook review of State protected areas titled 'A
Scientific Review of Protected Areas and Proposals Since 2002'. Officers from the Department of
National Parks, Recreation, Sports and Racing have advised that the scientific report is to be
considered by State Cabinet shortly. The content of this report is confidential, but it is anticipated
that the outstanding land parcels that require conservation tenure protection may form part of this
report and it would be timely to write to the Department advising of Noosa Council’s position.
