  The Water Quality Objectives (WQOs) used for comparison within this assessment are
  those listed under Area NF1 for "Lowland Freshwater – Aquatic Ecosystem Moderately
  Disturbed". Table 2 lists the water quality objectives that have been applied to the
  monitoring area of the Burgess Creek REMP for this monitoring period.

  3.2    Guidelines for Fresh and Marine Water Quality
   The Australian and New Zealand Environmental Conservation Council (ANZECC) and
   Australian and New Zealand Guidelines for Fresh and Marine Water Quality (2000) define
   the limits for primary and secondary recreational use for microbiological indicators to
   ensure public health. These guidelines provide the limits for thermotolerant coliforms and
