As discussed in Section 3, a number of candidates were examined within the search area which resulted in the chosen candidate at 153 Lake Flat Road, Boreen Point. Furthermore, the reasons for selecting this site are as follows: . The site is appropriately located within a rural area which is characterised by large farming properties, heavily vegetated hinterland areas and large rural-residential allotments; . The proposed location provides an adequate separation distance from community sensitive land uses and is setback more than 240 m from the closest and only three (3)residential dwellings within 500 m radius; . The facility has been appropriately located on a highly modified subject site predominantly used for forestry and logging purposes and containing similar electrical infrastructure such as the energex electricity network which runs from north to south through the property; . The proposed facility is located a sufficient buffer distance from environmentally sensitive locations (approximately 200 m from Lake Cootharaba) and no vegetation removal will be required; . The location provides line of sight to other planned sites in the NBN wireless network specifically -Soreen Point North; and . The Telecommunication Facility on this site has been appropriately located on the periphery of the township whilst still being able to meet coverage objectives for the area and minimising visual impact given the presence of mature vegetation surrounding the site.
