Telecommunication Facility can only be carried out if a permit is ’granted by DNRM, who
assesses the application against the regional vegetation management codes. No permit is
required to clear regulated regrowth; however the department must be notified of the
intended clearing and compliance with the regrowth vegetation code.
6.3.1 Regrowth Vegetation
Under the VMA the subject site is mapped as containing a small area of High Value
Regrowth Vegetation that is classified as containing ’Of Concern regional Ecosystems’
and two ’Regrowth Watercourses (Stream Order 1)’ (refer to Figure 6.1 below and
Appendix 5 Environmental Searches). In accordance with the Regrowth Vegetation
-
Code a Regrowth Watercourse classified as Stream Order 1 requires a minimum stream
protection distance of 10 metres. A portion of the proposed compound (8 x 10m) is
located within the mapped Regrowth vegetation however, the proposed development will
not require a permit or notification to the DNRM as it is located in a cleared area, and the
proposal does not require removal of any vegetation. The proposed development is also
setback approximately 300 m from the closest regrowth watercourse.
