Dear Sir/Madam,
We have lived in the area behind Noosa Junction and Pinaroo Park for many years. We love the area and particularly the walk down to the junction.
Having observed the negative effect that the reduction of main street car parking has had on local businesses, and having conversed with many of the
local business owners it is apparent that all is not good for the local business owners.
To dilute even further the small pool of customers seems to be an ill thought proposal. Regardless of the necessity or not for a Tavern/large
liquor outlet - we assume similar to BWS, the impact upon Pinaroo Park can not be good.
We are faced with the possibility of further late night drinking parties, the resultant noise and mess left in the mornings. The upgrade to the road would
surely impact upon the catchment down there, which at the moment is seriously smelly, Council, never to my knowledge having cleaned out the
silt build up in the lake.
Furthermore the sunlight that lights and warms the park in the morning for locals to walk, exercise etc. will be blocked by the height of the buildings
envisaged, so on winter mornings especially it will be a colder, darker Pinaroo park.
While the thought of having residential units on top of retail outlets has merit, surely the retention of at least part of the Bowling Green could add to
the proposal in terms of retaining green space - and it would acknowledge the older residents of the area as being a valued part of our society.
To have this amenity in our area is a great asset.
The roundabout is also of concern as we observe many cars losing traction in wet weather - I would have thought a traffic engineer would have
had issues with a 'blind' hill, on a corner, descending to a roundabout on an unfriendly camber.
So in conclusion, why would you approve more commercial development in Noosa Junction when half of the existing space sits empty, why do we need another liquor barn when one exists 2/3km away.
We object, we believe this is a poorly considered proposal and should not be approved.

Kind regards,

Lisa Smith
