Dog Beach Sand Nourishment Project: Marine Plant Monitoring Plan 3
Monitoring Plan

The western sand plug may impact on 45.9m2 of subtidal detritus which is considered a marine plant
for the purposes of the Fisheries Act 1994. It is anticipated detritus will re-establish following works
and the impacts are likely to be temporary.

In summary, the proposed works as illustrated in Figure 2-1 may impact on the following marine
         plants:

         • permanent removal of 244.2m2 of fallen dead trees on tidal lands

         • temporary disturbance to 45.9m2 of subtidal detritus.

It is not anticipated marine plants associated with the dune woodland or in intertidal zones at the
eastern end of Dog Beach will be directly impacted by the works.

This plan will be implemented to monitor impacts associated with the sand nourishment works on
land-based, live marine plants and to alert an action plan to address any issues that may have long
         term impacts on fisheries resources.
