Subject: MCU20/0115 at 3 Robert St. Noosaville From: Brent Threadgold Date: 2020-12-09T21:46:41+00:00 To: Mailbox Council Mail RE: Submission for - Short-term accommodation WHERE: 3 Robert St. Noosaville ON: Lot 3 on RP87781 Application ref: MCU20/0115 My wife and and I own and live a 1/165 Gympie Terrace Noosaville, which is one of the neighbouring properties to 3 Robert Street Noosaville. Our personal experience, along with a number of friends experiences of having lived next to holiday rental houses in Noosa and of renting our own homes for holiday rental is that it always has a detrimental effect on the amenity of neighbouring properties. Some of the issues we and friends have faced include - 1. Loud alcohol fuelled noise, particularly after 9pm and particularly in homes with pools and outdoor entertaining areas. 2. Total disrespect from drunk guests when asked to turn down well into the early hours of the morning. 3. Damage to property. 4. Generally the more expensive the rent the greater the disrespect of the guests. 5. More cars than property can catered for with no option for guest’s than to park across driveways and on the street. 6. Many more traffic movements particularly in bigger homes. 7. Many more service vehicles particularly in bigger homes. Also of note - 1. Noosaville already has numerous properties available to holiday rent with on-site supervision. All of which do their best to control the above issues and do so well, Managers also work together to stamp out bad guest’s unlike individual owners who don’t have that network available to them. 2. The property in question has 6 direct neighbouring properties all of which are owner occupied and or permanently rented. 3. We have had the body corp laws written for 165 Gympie Terrace to dis-allow holiday renting in our complex to avoid possible confrontation with over excited holiday makers. 4. It always proves next to impossible to find an owner or property manager to take responsibility for the actions of their guests. 5. All of our neighbours are very respectful of each other and it concerns me greatly Council are considering this MCU application which if approved will inevitably have a detrimental effect on all neighbours at some time. 6. Once council have decided they have no recourse for a poor decision, but we will live with a poor decision indefinitely. Could council please acknowledge receipt of this submission by return email.
