Dear SirlMadam,
Re: Application No:MCU13/0087
I am very against the proposal by Coles to redevelop a marvellous sporting facility.
The Noosa Heads Bowling Club has been providing an excellent facility for thousands of
people, both young and old, to exercis for 43 years. ScllOOI students and all members of
the community can learn to bowl at absolutely no cost, and anyone can roll up for an
affordable $2.
The Club is also home to a Mahjong Club,a Petanque Club and a Fishing Club. It has
always provided a community meeting place for groups and orgarusations, usually at no
cost.
Noosa Junction is like a country town. People feel safe on the streets, there is minimal
traffic and congestion, and a lovely environment is shared by all.
This will not be the case if this site is changed to commercial use.
Many more shops will stay empty, big trees will be removed and the "green"effect will
disappear. We do not need another bulk liquor store and tavern in Noosa Junction.
Rezoning of our limited community space deserves careful consideration and
consultation focusing on the Noosa Biosphere.
With de-amalgamation effective from January 1st, important development proposals
should be put in ~beyanc~ until the n~wly el~ct~d Noosa Council comes to power and
makes these decisions.
Please do not let our recreational area be taken from us.
Yours faithfully,
IP.~
