The above attendance figures show continued growth and are inclusive of university attendance
and all events and bookings at The J.
BCC
As all areas of BCC are now leased or hired on a permanent basis, no customer attendance data
is recorded by Council. That said, anecdotal evidence points towards both Noosa Gymnastics
Club and Montessori Noosa growing their respective student numbers.
3. STAFFING
The J staff continue to also oversee BCC’s operations, therefore this component of the report is
combined for both venues. Staffing levels are currently at 4.7 FTE which is considered extremely
efficient when compared to other similar venues.
This last six months saw minor staffing changes, with some additional hours required for initial
training and handover. The J’s new Venue Support Officer has settled in well and has identified
and implemented a number of changes to improve customer experience and produce efficiencies
for the centre.
4. SYSTEMS & PROCESSES AND OTHER MATTERS
Regular reviews and updating of operational systems and processes remains ongoing and will
continue with reference to the service review and business plan. Management will soon
commence the process of developing an updated business plan to steer the facility over coming
years.
The J’s rear deck was recently inspected by a structural engineer in order to accurately ascertain
its current condition and provide recommendations for required works. While the report revealed
a level of remedial works are required for the sub-structure, the overall condition was assessed
as being better than anticipated. Once the recommended remedial works have been completed,
the deck shouldn’t require any further major works over the coming 5 years.
