Dear Nadine,

I write in support of this MCU.

In Brief - I believe the proposal is of strong architectural merit, an interesting and well resolved design. The proposal is by Richards and Spence, a well known architectural firm with a proven body of exemplary work that aim to make positive contributions to the public domain. Richards and Spence's work really embraces our SEQ climate and lifestyle through the blurring of the indoor / outdoor divide.This proposal is no different. I find it refreshing and exciting to see a unique design proposal of this scale and calibre proposed in Noosa heads.  The Nuances of the design provide subtle references back to Noosa, whilst remaining contemporary.

From an economic perspective, I won't comment on the need or otherwise for a 5 star hotel in this location, but I do believe that such a proposal would benefit Noosa's "cultural capital" in terms of good, exemplary design. This should be something we are proud of. Our existing resort developments are largely outdated and lack architectural merit, perhaps with the exception of the Viridian project (Peppers Noosa). A project of this type could set the bar high for future projects to maintain a quality and thoughtful architecture that Noosa could be proud of.

I could continue further commentary but I will leave it at that. If you would like me to provide more specific feedback at any point I would be more than happy to do so.
