Traffic & Transport Assessment -
Road Network Performance

7. Road Network Performance

7.1 SIDRA Analysis
Halcrow adopted the SIDRA software package to analyse the performance of the Gibson Road /
Thomas Street / Skipper Place roundabout intersection as a result of the proposed development
traffic generation over the 10 year planning horizon.

7.2 Gibson Rd / Thomas St / Skipper Pl Intersection Performance
The results of the SIDRA intersection performance analysis for the Gibson Road / Thomas Street /
Skipper Place roundabout intersection are presented in Table 7-2.
Table 7-1 Intersection Performance Analysis Results Summary

                                                             Intersection Performance Measure
Scenario Level of Degree of Average 95th Percentile Queuing (m)

The analysis of the existing peak hour periods, with and without development traffic included, found
that the intersection operates within acceptable performance parameters with a maximum Degree
of Saturation of 58% (max. allowable 85%).
Analysis of the intersection over the 10 year planning horizon, with and without development traffic
included, found that the intersection also operates within acceptable performance parameters
during the Thursday PM peak hour period with a maximum Degree of Saturation of 78% (max.
               allowable 85%).

7.3 Conclusion
The analysis finds that there are no adverse impacts on the surrounding road network as a result of
               the proposed development.
