BCC revenue finished under budget by $5,880. The budget included a $7,000 provision for the
recoupment of legal fees related to the drafting of a lease, however because the lease wasn’t
drafted, there were no fees to recoup. As such, a comparative saving of $7,000 was mirrored in
the expenditure ledger.

Total expenditure finished $24,647 less than budget with a $20,101 underspend on building
maintenance being the main contributor to savings. Very little maintenance was required
throughout the year due to a number of issues being addressed the previous year. Next year’s
maintenance expenditure is expected to return to budgeted levels.

It is pleasing to note that the facility’s annual cost to Council has reduced significantly to an all-
time low of just $15,101, inclusive of depreciation and internal charges.
