EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The project delivery status report is presented regularly to the Services and Organisation
Committee. This report particularly highlights the projects that have been either completed or are
nearing completion over the 2015/2016 financial year.
This report also provides a capital project delivery spreadsheet (Attachment 1) that gives a
general overview of the status of all project and general performance as the projects are
delivered. The capital delivery project dashboard has been incorporated into Attachment 1 to
demonstrate an individual project’s status and overall delivery status.
RECOMMENDATION
That Council note the report by the Asset Planning Coordinator to the Services & Organisation
Committee Meeting dated 9 August 2016 providing an update on the status of the projects
delivered in the 2015/16 Capital Works Programme and further note that Council achieved an
88% completion rate for its 2015/16 Capital Works Programme.
REPORT
The purpose of this report is to inform the Services & Organisation Committee of the overall
status of the capital works programme projects to the end of June 2016. The report also provides
an opportunity to highlight and discuss projects within the programme and also confirm the
completion of projects as they are delivered throughout the 2015/2016 financial year.
There are currently 164 active projects (not including the individual site specific bus stop projects)
in the 2015/16 capital programme as of 30 June 2016 (including the carryover projects from
2014/2015) with a value of $35.6m. This figure includes the emergent works reserve of $900k
(nearly 3% of the programme) which is not required and does not therefore form part of the
overall delivery programme.
1. Major Projects
There were a number of major projects that were delivered throughout the financial year with the
most significant being the planning, design and construction for the Dr Pages Road upgrade.
This project was completed in late May 2016. In addition, the Munna Point Bridge rehabilitation
project with a budget of $3.1m has now been completed. Further work in addition to the original
scope of the project for the renewal of the bridge deck footpath will occur in the 2016/17 financial
year. Other major projects included the commencement of the planning and design stage for the
Noosa Heads Park Road Boardwalk renewal, and the completion of the flood mitigation
programme at both the Daintree Estate, Tewantin and Rifle Street, Pomona locations.
