Finance & Risk
Failure to address the requirements of AASB 124 – Related Party Disclosures may lead to
inadequate or incorrect disclosures within Council’s annual financial statements, in addition to
increasing the potential for reputational and other damage to Council should governance failures
eventuate.
Consultation
External Consultation - Community & Stakeholder
Council has contacted the Department of Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning along
with the Queensland Audit Office, with their input considered in the development of this Policy.
Internal Consultation
The draft Policy was presented to the February and May Audit & Risk Committee meetings for
review; and the Executive Manager and Governance Advisor have been closely involved in the
development of the draft policy.
