Proposed Reference Group

The development of the Sport and Active Recreation Plan will be progressed through a Sport and
Active Recreation Reference Group. The purpose of the Reference Group will be to assist the
Community Development team to:

   Shape the format and content of the Plan
   Advocate for availability of the necessary resources
   Provide a leadership role for the development and prioritisation of the Plan’s objectives and
     outcomes
   Provide the support mechanism around the Plan
   Monitor the scope of the Plan
   Provide input into sport and active recreation issues identified

Attachment 1 – Project Brief - contains proposed reference group membership.

SOCIAL STRATEGY IMPLEMENTATION PLAN
That Council note the report by the Community Development Coordinator to the Services &
Organisation Committee Meeting dated 12 July 2016 and
A.     Adopt the Noosa Social Strategy three (3) year Implementation Plan as set out in
       Attachment 1 to the report; and
B.     Request the Chief Executive Officer to provide an update and review of the
       Implementation Plan after twelve (12) months of operation.

Finance & Risk
The development of this plan will be completed ‘in house’ by the Community Development team.
Funding has been allocated as part of the Social Strategy implementation for consultation,
publishing, printing and other costs.

Consultation

External Consultation - Community & Stakeholder

A detailed community engagement plan will be developed to complement the Project Brief to
ensure that the community is able to make comment on the issues and recommendations
contained within the plan.
