4.0 MAGNETIC AND ELECTRIC FIELD CALCULATIONS
4.1 General Parameters
4.1.1 Load current
The average load currents to be used in all studies are 63A and 61A per phase for F790
and F7298 respectively (refer Table 2 S2.3.1) with both circuits energised.
The 10PoE loads for F790 and F7298 through to 2023/2024 in the most recent ENERGEX
132/132kV feeder forecast are 78A and 77A respectively.
4.1.2 Phasing
The phasing configuration on the double circuit line is as shown in Figure 4 S4.2.3. The
configuration is known as diagonal phasing and is the arrangement adopted to produce
minimum magnetic field level.
4.1.3 Height of field calculation
Height of field calculation above ground = 1m.
4.2 Average conductor height and geometry
A temperature of 50°C will be used as the reference for average phase conductor height
calculations.
4.2.1 F790/7298
Phase conductor : SATURN (design temperature 80°C)
OHEW : 1x18.2mm “Cossonay” OHEW
Average span : 207.5m
Stringing tension : 18.2% UTS (phase), 8.8% (OHEW)
Minimum clearance : 6.7m
Calculate average conductor height = (RL1+RL2)/2 – 2/3 *sag
