Properly made submission (object) Debbie Reed MCU13/0087
Subject: SK BCS 1192 MCU13/0087 Notice of submission Debbie Reed From: Debbie R Date: 2013-10-18T01:48:56+00:00 To: Internet Mailbox Sunshine Coast Regional Council I wish to make the following comments on the application in the title in the address bar, that being the submission on MCU13/0087- 99 Noosa Drive, 3 and 29 Lanyana Way, Noosa Heads. I would like to voice my objection and distaste against any more retail shops being built or opened on the site, esepcially any liquor stores. I live in Wyandra St. which is right behind Coles, and everyone at the Junction is well aware of the difficulties faced by retail shop owners at the Junction. There are quite a number of empty shops, and I have often witnessed shops closing down, and also not staying open for very long before they are forced to close down. I absolutely am against any more liquor outlets opening as the Junction area already has four liquor stores: I think it has 2 Liquorlands: one next to Sogo Bar, and one near Pardon's fruit market, and also two liquor stores near Coles at Noosa Fair, they being BWS and Embassy XO. We don't want to be a nation of alcoholics, or to look like we are either, and there are well and truly more than enough liquor outlets in both the Junction area and its immediate surrounds. There is a lot more important things to do in life than drinking and shopping in shops that can't afford to stay open. Please use this site only for recreational facilities, such as a Bowls club, or Gymnasium for Zumba or dance classes. I think I saw that it was being considered as a site for an educational facility, and that would be helpful, although the land area looks rather small for that purpose. Whichever it is used for, we can not afford to encroach on the area of Pinaroo Park. I, as a local resident have heard koala/s in there recently, and we need to protect as much green space as possible in this region that we care so much for. Thank you for your time. Yours sincerely, Debbie Reed 9/ 17 Wyandra St. Noosa Heads.
