Superintendent and the Superintendent's Representative. This meeting is to inform the contractor of the intent
of the VMP and to help locate areas or trees that have specific requirements, and to set up a system of regular
inspections by the SR to ensure the VMP is being adhered to. Any tree protection fencing (construction barriers)
required should be installed at this time for approval by the Council.
B.1 Clearing Procedures:
e Prior to commencement of clearing operations, the site is to be inspected and locations of fauna and fauna
habitat noted by a qualified wildlife officer (fauna spotter) capable of assessing, treating and relocating fauna.
e All cleared vegetation, with the exception of fertile weed material, is to be chipped and stockpiled for reuse
on site or taken offsite for lawful disposal.
e Any detection of a Koala will require a mandatory stopworks.
B.2 Clearing methodology
The nature of the supervised clearing operation will be such that any Fauna will have the opportunity to retreat
into any protected or uncleared areas of the site or adjacent the site. Clearing is to be staged in a way that
directs fauna to adjacent habitat areas beyond the clearing works. Clearing shall begin at the furthest point
from the desired habitat vegetation and be cleared towards it. The fauna spotter shall be present during these
operations to ensure safe travel for any fauna spotted in trees or in the vicinity.
Vegetation must only be removed or disturbed in accordance with approved Fauna Management Plan
B.3 Storage And Stockpiling
e Stockpile areas are to be located, away from drainage lines, native bushland, vegetation to be retained, or
tree protection areas.
e Protect all stockpiles from erosion and erect erosion protection barriers to the perimeter of stockpiles - refer
to Civil Engineering drawings for sediment and erosion control program, control measures, monitoring, and
maintenance procedures.
e Trees mulched for reuse on the site must be stockpiled and turned regularly for at least 3 months.
