1 Introduction
1.1 Background

Green Tape Solutions was engaged by Paul Desouza to prepare a bushfire hazard assessment and
management plan (BHAMP) for a site located at 178 Davis Road, Cootharaba (described as Lot 7 on
SP115866) (the ‘site’).

This report has been prepared for a development application for a Material Change of Use – construction
of a new residential dwelling. The site is currently vacant and heavily vegetated. The site does not
contain any infrastructure or associated structures. Access to the development shall be provided via a
driveway to Davis Road. The removal of native vegetation will be required to facilitate the development
and bushfire management measures. The proposed development layout is provided in Figure 2.

1.2 Site Description

The site is located on a single lot comprising a total area of approximately 112, 583.26 m2 (11.25 ha)
within the Noosa Council (NC) local government area (Figure 1). The site is bounded by Davis Road to
the south and rural residential lots to the north, west and east. Two mapped waterways (QLD waterways
for waterway barrier works) are located to the east and west of the site. The site connects to Ringtail
Forest Reserve to the south.

The site contains dense remnant vegetation with a small patch of cleared land in the northern extremity.
Vegetation on site consists of two remnant vegetation communities, one regrowth community and one
non-remnant vegetation community. A more detailed description of the vegetation communities within
and surrounding the site is provided in Section 3.1.2
