Updated Odour Modelling
In response to further information requested by SCRC Officers by email on 19
November 2013, MWA Environmental has updated the odour emission rate,
meteorological and odour dispersion models to address the modelling preferences of
Council’s technical reviewer. A detailed response is provided in correspondence

(L26013/BH/12-002,29 November 2013).
The results of the updated odour modelling demonstrate that cumulative odour
impacts will comply with the Queensland odour guideline at surrounding residential
dwellings.
The results of the updated odour modelling indicate significantly lesser impacts from
the proposed poultry growing sheds and litter stockpiling as compared the modelling
originally undertaken by MWA Environmental and provided to Council.
Top Forestry Road Dust Modelling
MWA Environmental has reviewed the potential impact of the proposed development
on overall dust emissions from Top Forestry Road considering the average 3.2 truck
trips generated per day at an existing Ingham’s farm at Redland Bay. It is noted that
the Redland Bay farm holds more birds than proposed at the subject site and, as
such, the truck trips are likely to be conservatively high.
For the purposes of this assessment it has been assumed that Top Forestry Road
current carries 200 vehicles per day.
Based upon calculations in accordance with USEPA AP-42 and Environment
Australia techniques, overall particulate emissions from Top Forestry Road are
estimated to increase by less than 10% as a result of the proposed development.
The overall dust emissions resulting from current usage of the public road is
significantly higher than the projected contribution from the proposed development.
On this basis the proposed development would only be expected to have a minor
impact on current on dust levels at residences along Top Forestry Road.
Yours sincerely
Ben Hyde -
